Back in the saddle again

Well looky here. I fixed it! The problems was from a whole bunch of new thingamajibbies in the latest WordPress upgrade I installed. And even though this iteration is working again, I am still on a course of changing the website in its entirety. Why? Because technology has and will always change. There’s new software and hardware and more damn thingamajibbies that can enhance and help.

Besides it gives the creative muscles a workout!

Just Wondering…

I was just wondering if any of you that voted for the current president are filled with remorse and regret? I remember feeling that way a couple years after voting for Carter. He taught me that I had to take care of myself rather than depending on others. I’ve been  a republican ever since.

Say “Hi” to Mom

After 90 and a half years, my Father, Jonas Vasaris passed away on Wednesday, 09/09/09. Ever since Mom passed 2 years ago, he’s missed her terribly and that was the beginning of the end.

When I saw him last Sunday we went through many, many photo albums, reminiscing about many vacations and going back many years when he was fleeing Lithuania, teaching in Germany and emigrating from Europe.

He had a good life….he said so. One of his thoughts was, “If I had known I was going to live this long, I would have saved more money!”

Say “Hi” to Mom, Dad. I love you both!

Too Busy Posing

There is a price to be paid when a president throws a party every other night, weekends in Chicago or Camp David and poses for magazine cover after magazine cover….Too busy to actually do the job to which he was elected 8O

After 51 days in office, Barack Obama has appointed only 73 people to 1,200 jobs that require Senate confirmation.

At this rate he’ll never get done :!:

Did You Know?

A very interesting video about life, population, education and how it is all changing. Enjoy!

Did You Know?

There are 5 times the number of words in the English language today than there were in Shakespeare’s time.

3000 books were published…..today!

Bailouts Galore!

No new bailout today, but a bond reporter on CNBC, Rick Santelli, sure made some comments on the President’s mortgage bailout….

The government is promoting bad behavior… do we really want to subsidize the losers’ mortgages… How about we all stop paying our mortgage!

See and hear it all right here.

Nice Speech!

I’m not much of a political pundit, but I enjoyed the Republican VP’s speech, especially all those digs into BO. Last night, Sarah Palin singlehandedly replaced angry feminism with a solid advance in the status of women. My vote goes to Sarah!

Arrogance?

The arrogance of people who can’t handle the realization that we are NOT in control and just exist at the whim of nature. I’m sure that many of the inhabitants of New Orleans have a multitude of personal reasons for living there. I, for one, would never consider living in a bowl that is below sea level, on the coast of a large body of water, and in the path of hurricanes.

Great Lecture, Great Book

By now I’m sure you have heard of the passing of Randy Pausch. I saw his lecture on youtube last October and passed the link on to as many people as I knew. I also told them to have tissues or a hankie nearby. If you have not seen the lecture, please do. If you have not read the book, please do.

Your life will change.

Oxymorons

How come we choose from two people to run for President & over fifty for Miss America ?

Why is it our children can’t read a Bible in school, but they can in prison?

Why do I have to swear on the Bible in court when the Ten Commandments cannot be displayed outside?
